David KiddDavid G. Kidd, M. A. is a third year doctoral student at George Mason University in the Human Factors and Applied Cognition program. His main area of interest is studying the effects of driver distraction in high fidelity simulated environments and on-road testing. He is currently working a fellowship he received from Liberty Mutual, Inc. to study on-road driver distraction in an instrumented vehicle.
David CadesDavid M. Cades, M. A. is a fourth year doctoral student at George Mason University in the Human Factors and Applied Cognition pro- gram. His main area of interest is studying the cognitive underpinnings of how people handle being interrupted in dynamic settings such as driving and aviation.
Don HorvathDon J. Horvath, M. A. is a human factors engineer at Perceptronics Solutions, Inc. He is currently working on GUI design and usability for military applications and training in both manned and unmanned vehicles.
Stephan JonesStephen M. Jones, M. A. is a senior consultant at CGI Group, Inc. He has done work examining how people switch tasks under various conditions and has experience in GUI testing, design, and implementation in addition to studying driver distraction in his master’s program
Matthew PitoneMatthew J. Pitone, M. A. is a human factors engineer at Sonalysts, Inc. He is currently working on designing the controls and inter- faces for propulsion systems on the new fleet of naval vessels. While working on his master’s degree, Matt worked on various projects involving driver distraction and automotive design research.
Christopher MonkDr. Christopher A. Monk, Ph.D. is currently an assistant professor at George Mason University in the Human Factors and Applied Cognition program in the Psychology Department. He received his Ph.D. in Human Factors and Applied Cognition from George Mason University in 2004. His core research question focuses on how people cognitively manage multiple tasks in dynamic contexts. He also studies how well people resume a computer- based task after being interrupted.
